This adventure is rated 2 out of 5 difficulty level. Moderate level activities (i.e. short to medium hikes up to 5 miles, some elevation, intro to new skill/activity that is guided by 3rd party like mountain biking, climbing, rafting, etc.). Activities are included, but optional if outside of your comfort zone.

This 11-day adventure is all about experiencing Morocco in a real, meaningful way. We’ll explore the winding streets of Marrakesh and Fes, where ancient traditions live alongside everyday life. From the blue-hued charm of Chefchaouen to the rugged beauty of the Dades Valley, every stop offers something new to discover.
We'll hike through red canyons, ride camels into the Sahara and sleep under stars so bright they don’t seem real. We’ll wander vibrant souks full of spices, textiles, and handmade treasures, and learn the stories behind the people who make them. There will be mint tea on rooftops, shared meals with welcoming families and plenty of time to soak it all in.
This isn’t just a trip—it’s a chance to step outside your routine, connect with like-minded women, and experience the heart of Morocco through its landscapes, people, and traditions. Morocco is waiting. Let’s go explore it—together!
ITINERARY

Welcome to Morocco! Today you will be arriving at the Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN). There will be up to three group transfer services provided from the airport to the hotel. The driver from the airport to the hotel is approximately 1 hour.
Check into your 5-star hotel and enjoy the rest of the day however you like. Relax by the pool, book a spa appointment, or catch up on sleep.
We will meet in the evening for a group welcome dinner.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before packing up and checking out.
Today’s advnenture begins with a guided tour of the Hassan II Mosque, an architectural masterpiece offering insigne into Moroccan craftsmanship, religious traditions and modern Islamic architecture.
After the tour, you will make your way to Chefchaouen, infamously known as the blue city. The drive is approximately 5 hours.
Once you check in, the afternoon is yours to explore the city, take photographs, enjoy lunch, and soak in the views.

After a delicious breakfast, it’s time to explore more of this stunning city!
Wander through the medina, explore local handicraft shops, and visit the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views of the city.

After breakfast, relax on the 4 -5 hour drive as you make your way to Fes passing through traditional villages.
Enjoy lunch along the way.
After you arrive in the afternoon, you will check into your hotel an enjoy free time to explore the nearby neighborhoods.
Evening is free to enjoy at your leisure.

Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your hotel.
Begin the day with a tour of the city of Fes, a thousand-year-old city and Morocco’s religious and cultural heartland.
Visit the Medina of Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Learn about local traditions during a stop at a local leather tannery. Here you will learn about the traditional treatment and dyeing process that has been passed down for centuries.
Explore artisan quarters and historic madrasas, bustling souks and hidden alleyways.
After the city tour, it’s time to depart Fes and journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. After a 4-5 hour drive you will arrive in Midelt, a small village nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountain ranges where you will stay tonight.
Enjoy a group dinner.

After breakfast it’s time to depart Midelt as you make your way to the Sahara desert.
Pass through the Zizi Valley, famous for its vast palm groves and fortified villages. The drive tis approximately 4-5 hours.
In the afternoon, you will arrive in Merzouga where you will be treated to a desert discovery tour and meet a local nomadic family.
Visit a Gnawa music village and learn about the traditional desert rhythms and the history of the village.
In the late afternoon enjoy a camel trek across the dunes of Eng Chebbi. Take in the sunset as you make the way to your camp for the night.
Tonight sleep under a billion stars in a tented camp in the Sahara desert. Here you will be treated to a traditional dinner followed by traditional music and songs.

Sunrise in the Sahara is an experience you don’t want to miss!
After breakfast at camp, you will return to Merzouga to meet your driver. Today you will continue west toward the Todra region. Today’s drive is approximately 5-6 hours in total.
Along the way, stop to visit the Todra Gorge known for dramatic canyon walls rising above the riverbed. Enjoy a short walk to stretch your legs and take in the beauty that surrounds you.
After the break, you’ll continue on to the Dades Valley, known for its rugged rock formations and kasbahs.

After breakfast, explore the Dades River Gorge on a 4-hour guided hike to visit Monkey Fingers and gain a glimpse into life in rural Morocco. This is rated as a moderate hike.
In the evening you will enjoy a homemade meal featuring local dishes and learn about the Berber culture, traditions and daily life.

Enjoy breakfast before departing Dades Valley.
Today you will make your way to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains. The total drive today is approximately 6.5-7.5 hours.
Along the way, stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Air Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous fortified village and a renowned filming location. Here you will learn about the history, architecture and its role in Moroccan trade routes.
After the tour, continue toward Marrakech enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery.
Check into your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.

Enjoy breakfast at your leisure before heading out for a full day to explore Marrakech.
On today’s city tour you will learn about Marrakech’s imperial history, cultural traditions and daily life. Visit the Bahia Palace, wander through the Majorelle Gardens, and pass by the Koutoubia Mosque. You’ll also explore the media, souks and Jemaa El-Fna square.
Enjoy some free time before meeting up with the group for a final dinner together.

Enjoy breakfast at your leisure. If you are heading home today, two group airport transfers will be arranged to the Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK).
ADD-ON DAY: If you choose, extend your stay in the city for an extra day to explore your own way! We recommend wandering through local markets, relaxing with a traditional hammam (spa) experience or choose an adventure like a hot air balloon or quad biking tour. Our local guide can help arrange any additional activities you might be interested in. Activities are an additional cost.

This trip requires a minimum number of women to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided along with pre-travel support. Please let us know if you do not have or use Facebook (see contact information below).

Travel (and medical) insurance is required for anyone traveling on a Women Who Explore adventure. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. Your insurance policy should also include specific Covid-19 cover, including cancellation and curtailment cover if you or a close relative are diagnosed with Covid-19.
